An angle iron has two equal-length legs that meet at a 90-degree angle, forming an L shape. These angles are typically determined by two measurements: the length of each leg and the thickness of the material. For example, an equal-length angle measuring 50x50x5mm means that both legs are 50mm long and the material thickness is 5mm.

Angle steel is widely used in various structural applications such as buildings, bridges, towers, foundations, sliding doors, shelves and other steel structures. Because of its L-shaped cross-section, it provides stability and strength while distributing loads efficiently. Because of its equal-leg structure, it is ideal for applications that require symmetrical load bearing and support.

Angle bars are typically made from hot rolled steel and come in a variety of grades, including A36, a common carbon steel type. These bars can be further processed, such as galvanized to prevent corrosion, or cut to specific lengths to meet project requirements.
