I-Beam

(2 customer reviews)

I-Beam steel This is a hot-rolled I-beam steel section. Its key feature is the extra-sloping and thick flange at the base, which enhances its ability to withstand compressive and impact forces from crane wheels. It is ideal for use in crane runways and heavy-duty hoist beams, a capability that conventional H-beams cannot adequately address.

I-beam steel

I-Beam Steel An I-beam is a hot-rolled steel profile with a cross-section shaped like the Thai letter I. “I” Capital letters. What makes I-Beam different from... H-Beam Clearly, “"Flange"” The wingtips will have uneven thickness, being thickest at the base (near the waist) and tapering towards the wingtip (Tapered Flange), and the edges of the wing will be rounded (Rounded Edges).

This structure is designed for... Withstands compressive and shear forces.Shear Force) It performs exceptionally well against localized stress, especially the pressure from the constantly moving wheels of factory cranes. This would be more effective if H-beams were used. WF steel Generally, wings may tear or bend easily.

Key features of AY Contento I-Beam steel.

  • Heavy Duty Flange (Extra Thick Flange): The thick wing roots provide excellent support for the live load from machinery.
  • Shock Absorption: The R-shaped (radius) shape at the joints helps to distribute vibrations effectively, reducing the risk of structural cracking.
  • Specific Application (Born for a specific task): This is the main steel specification that engineers use to make crane girders and monorails.

Applications

  1. Crane runway: For overhead cranes in industrial plants.
  2. Monorail Hoist: For hanging chain hoists or wire rope hoists to lift heavy objects along a conveyor belt.
  3. Heavy machinery: Machine structures that must withstand high vibrations.
  4. stake: In some cases, it is used for pile foundations that require the strength to penetrate hard soil layers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can H-beams be used instead of I-beams for crane tracks?

I strongly do not recommend it. Most crane wheels are designed to run on the tapered flanges of I-beams. Using H-beams with flat flanges may result in inefficient load-bearing and premature flange damage.

Q: How can I tell if it's an I-Beam or an H-Beam?

Please look at... ""Flange"" yes

  • If the wings are thick at the base, thin at the tip, and have rounded edges = I-Beam
  • If the wing thickness is uniform along the entire length and the edge is perpendicular = H-Beam / WF
